Tony for Model Number FGUS2632LEO What would cause my motor starter to go out every three or so months?
Answer Hello Tony, A motor won't just go out. Normally a motor failure is caused by overloading the motor or excessive current flow. I would first check the line voltage to the receptacle, to make sure the unit isn't being supplied too much or too little voltage. Loose connections are also important to locate and correct since a loose connection is a point of high resistance, which causes high current flow. The high current flow will overheat the windings in the motor and melt the lacquer that insulates them from making electrical contact to one another. The most likely cause of the repeated failure is a poor electrical connection, so look for discolorations at the wire connections. Read More...
