Marsha July 09, 2020 for Model Number LGUS2642LE0 The freezer temperature keeps rising from 1 to upwards of 17 and the ice maker is slow to make ice cubes. We bought pop sicles over a week ago and some are still not frozen. Could we need a new starter or what can we do to trouble shoot? Thank you in advance for any help.
1 Answer Hello Marsha, when the freezer temperature is climbing check if the compressor is running or not, if not then replace the starter 241941003, if the compressor is running the evap fan should be running also in the freezer, next check if the evap coils are overly frosted as if a no defrost, otherwise, this may be the beginning of a sealed system problem. Yummy June 23, 2018 I have a universal start device kit for refrigerator The terminals where the quick connector snaps in are not labeled How to I determine which terminal is line(hot) and which terminal is neutral both wires on the quick connect that have to be connected to the line and neutral on the fridge are white
1 Answer Yummy, A model number of the refrigerator and the part number of your "universal" start device, would've been a lot more helpful. But basically, the wire attached to the top terminal of the start device you listed, should be the 120 VAC power supply (Hot) to the device. the wire on the lower terminals would ne the neutral leg of the circuit. You'll need to be careful, but disconnect the top wire from the start device, restore power to the refrigerator and make sure the control is on and in a cooling mode. With a multi meter, check from the upper wire terminal to chassis ground, you should read 120 VAC. Read More...

Ronald August 18, 2016 I received compressor control kit # 216649313. It came with the instructions that said the wires were color coded. Both wires are white. How do I know which is line and which is neutral. It's not marked on any of the connections.
1 Answer Hello Ronald. Unfortunately we do not have the instructions for the part available. This is not a difficult repair and you should be able to do it. The instructions are basically that you would cut the original wires and connect the new harness to adapt the new relay. One thing that you will want to keep in mind, on the new relay there is a N and a L stamped by the terminals. Connect the new harness then look at the stamping and the wire that is connected to N will be your neutral. Read More...

Tony October 06, 2012 for Model Number FGUS2632LEO What would cause my motor starter to go out every three or so months?
1 Answer Hello Tony, A motor won't just go out. Normally a motor failure is caused by overloading the motor or excessive current flow. I would first check the line voltage to the receptacle, to make sure the unit isn't being supplied too much or too little voltage. Loose connections are also important to locate and correct since a loose connection is a point of high resistance, which causes high current flow. The high current flow will overheat the windings in the motor and melt the lacquer that insulates them from making electrical contact to one another. The most likely cause of the repeated failure is a poor electrical connection, so look for discolorations at the wire connections. Read More...
