Caroline. for Model Number Agqb6400fs1 I have just found this in my frigidaire affinity front loading dryer also! Someone posted same finding as I have ..."I have just replaced the thermal limiter & have not started the dryer yet, because I noticed a piece of scorched eight inch leather type insulation on the top left part of the heater unit housing. I cannot find this eight inch insulation on any parts drawing. What is it for? Or is it something that got inside the dryer and got caught on the housing, heated up & caused the limiter to trip? It looks like it may fit somewhere on the top of the housing"... Its not "felt" it is rubbery and long, I discovered it upon attempting to replace the thermal fuse, which I still need help identifiying. This rubber thing concerns me it looks like it fell from somewhere and its tattered, is this also why I am having to replace fuse? Where is the thermal fuse anyway? How do I get it out?
Answer Hi Caroline. No you both have different dryers anyway. A thermal fuse will open the heater if there is a vent restriction, or a direct short with your heating element. We are going to need your exact model and serial(located into the door area).Thank you. Read More... Answered by AppliancePartsPros.com | Monday, July 18, 2011
