Cliff for Model Number GLEH1642FS4 My dryer runs but it takes too long to dry a regular load, almost (140 minutes). Any suggestions as to what the problem could be? Solutions are also welcomed. Thx, Cliff
Answer Hello Cliff, This is most often caused by a restricted dryer exhaust. Think of it this way: The dryer drum is riding on felt seals. When there is too much restriction on the exhaust duct such as a crimp, clog, or excessively long duct, the duct presents too much back pressure and the pressure blows past the dryer drum seals right back into the cabinet. The cabinet of the unit is used as the air intake, so the result is the recirculation of the heat, lint, and moisture. If you recirculate the moisture, it is passed right back across the clothes, extending the dry time, increasing the utility bill, and wearing the unit out prematurely since it is having to run too long to dry the clothes. Check out the exhaust duct and I'm sure you will locate the cause of the issue. Read More... Answered by AppliancePartsPros.com | Friday, November 9, 2012
