Kevin B for Model Number 417.84072300 Hi, wife informed me that dryer was not working. All Lights light up. She can change cycles, start, stop etc. However, upon pressing start we hear a click but not corresponding action as far as drum spinning or heat. Checked Thermister reads 54 K OHM's thermal fuse shows .2 OHM's on either side over heat on heater assy also reads .2 OHM on either side heater has continuity testing Black and grey wire at board (could not easily get to wires on back. Verified 240 coming into unit checked for burnt wires Note: heater assy and bearing replaced a bout a year ago. Any thoughts on this issue. Would be appreciated Thanks, Kevin
Answer Kevin, The thermistor resistance is in range(50K ohms at room temp.) The limiter and hi limit thermostat should have "closed" (000)circuits across the terminals not side to side. You will also need to check the door switch circuit ( COM orange to NO tan should be a closed circuit, with the door closed). If sall checks OK, you'll need to check for 120 VAC into the control board on J4-2,J2-1 and COM. Then check for 120 VAC out of the control board at J4-1 Gray, and NO Black, be very careful when conducting the voltage checks. Read More...
