By: Frigidaire
Part Number: OEM20399667
Manufacturer Part Number: 5304518034

The Defrost Timer is an OEM replacement part for Frigidaire upright freezers. It serves as a crucial component responsible for regulating automatic defrost cycles.

Causes of a faulty defrost timer relate to 20,000+ hours of constant exposure to freezer temperatures as low as -10 degrees Fahrenheit. Such extremes can compromise electrical switching mechanisms over prolonged usage periods.

Symptoms of a failed defrost timer include:

  • Inability to initiate automatic defrost modes
  • Excessive ice and frost accumulation inside cabinet
  • Warm areas detected due to impaired fan circulation
  • Diagnostic codes indicating defrosting problems

This genuine Frigidaire replacement part is compatible with Kelvinator and some Kenmore units as well.

Jim for Model Number LFFH17F3QWA

Upright freezer, I keep finding water coming from underneath 1-2 times per day. Drain pan is dry, drain hose is clear. I turned the knob on the timer; there are 2 lines on the timer, one larger than the other, and there is a notch on the timer knob. The knob only turns in one direction. I find in the interior bottom of the freezer there is ice, and the holes which appear to be to let water out to the drain hose are completely iced over. Where do I go from here? Thanks for whatever help you can give me.

Answer

Jim, the drain hole being iced over is an indicator of the drain line being clogged. You will want to clear the built up ice on the drain hole and flush the drain with hot water. The water should pour directly down the drain and not accumulate in the drain pan.
