Robert for Model Number 587.16252402 In this rental unit the Kenmore "Quietguard" DW suddenly began making loud noises. The sump strainer was improperly installed and had allowed broken glass to block the vanes of the motor impeller lowering output and causing cavitation. During the process the upper wash arm appears (even with the now quiet and properly pumping motor) not to be turning. QUESTION : if everything is clear and unblocked, can friction built by wear over time be preventing rotation, or should these wash arms rotate until they fall off ?? The top sprayer disc is working fine.
Answer Hello Robert, If the upper spray arm is getting water to it and the spray arm is not turning then you would need to check to make sure that there is nothing clogging spray arm causing it to turn. If it checks ok then you will want to replace spray arm. Read More... Answered by AppliancePartsPros.com | Monday, February 4, 2013
