Will for Model Number GE model GTS18FBMERCC I have GE model GTS18FBMERCC refrigerator. A clicking sound began in the back of the refrigerator and simultaneously the freezer and the refrigerator portion began to warm. I pulled the refrigerator out and found the clicking noise coming from a piece near the compressor. I looked up the piece and found that it is actually two pieces put together - the capacitor and a piece called 5SP overload/ptc. I took the combined piece off, it just plugs into the compressor, and reinstalled it after the refrigerator had been off for about an hour. Everything worked fine for about ten minutes, then everything stopped - the fan, etc. I checked to make sure the electrical outlet that I use for the refrigerator still had juice. It does. Could failure of either of those pieces make the entire refrigerator stop working?
Answer Hello Will, If the compressor is failing and pulling too much amperage, it will blow the new start relay. The only way to correct this issue is by replacing the compressor WR87X10224. Read More... Answered by AppliancePartsPros.com | Friday, January 17, 2014
