Sonny for Model Number PCP23SHMFFBS My freezer will not reach it's set temperature if the rear access cover is on. It will only reach it's set temperature if I remove this rear access cover. My cover is made of metal with insulation fixed to it, which sits right behind the compressor when attached to the refrigerator. Should I worry about leaving this rear access cover off the refrigerator? Thanks
Answer Hello Sonny, If your unit is not operating properly with the cover on you have an issue with the condenser fan motor or something is preventing air circulation. The rear cover is in place to direct airflow from the fan across the condenser coils to dissipate the heat removed from the units' interior back into the room. If it will not work properly with the machine compartment cover in place, you check for anything restricting airflow and if the condenser fan motor WR60X10209 is running up to speed. Read More...
