Sonny for Model Number PCP23SHMFFBS Hi me again, thanks for your last response regarding rear access cover. I went ahead and replaced the condenser fan motor with a new one, in case the old one wasn't running as it should. Nothing appears to be restricting Air flow. I've mounted the rear access cover back on now. But still the freezer appears to be increasing in temperature, Fridge side is good. What I noticed is that with the rear access cover on, the compressor doesn't run as long as I think it should or like it did previously (wondering if the compressor is overheating with the rear access cover mounted and then shutting off prematurely), both condenser fan and evaporator fan continually run even when the compressor shuts off. Usually both fans shutoff when compressor shuts off, but not since rear access cover has been mounted on, both fans keep running, even when the compressor shuts off. I've left the rear access cover mounted for several hours in the hope things start to work as they should. In the meantime I've been watching the temperature display on the freezer showing warmer as time goes by, it doesn't seem to be getting back to it's set temperature. I'll probably have to remove the rear access cover again to get the Freezer Temperature right again. I'm at loss to why the Refrigerator operates better with the rear access cover off. Any advice would be appreciated.
Answer Sonny, As long as you installed the proper rear cover WR82X10100, properly there should be no air flow/overheating issues in the compressor compartment. When you replaced the condenser fan motor, did you also clean the lint and debris from the condenser coil ? You may want to remove and check the lower kick plate grille, clean it and check for any debris on the floor under the refrigerator. The condenser fan and the evaporator fan, are independent of the compressor circuits. Yes, they will all normally run together, but the fans can operate when the compressor has cycled off. It's dependent on the temp. sensors in each compartment. Check and make sure the sensor grille on the side walls aren't blocked or restricted by articles on the shelves. The DCV variable speed evaporator fan motor could be running intermittently, or it may be "stuck" in the low or medium speed, and not circulating the air in the freezer properly, but then you should notice an issue in the refrigerator eventually. Then check the "Custom Cool" bin and housing (if equipped). Read More... Answered by AppliancePartsPros.com | Thursday, March 8, 2018
