Larry for Model Number HTWP1400F2WW The dual action agitator in my washer rotates back and forth agitating clothes as it should however I noticed the top half with the spiral ramp moves back and forth with the bottom half rather than in one direction to push clothes downward. My understanding was this portion of the agitator was supposed to rotate in only one direction only during wash so the spiral “ramp” looking fins could push clothes downward while the bottom fins rotate in both directions. Is this due to a bad coupler or does the entire agitator need to be replaced? Maybe this is how it is supposed to work? Help would be appreciated. Thank you.
Answer Larry, the top portion of the agitator WH43X10034 should be able to rotate counterclockwise freely and the built-in agitator dogs should cause the top and lower portions to rotate clockwise together. Based on the information provided, the agitator sections have seized up and the agitator would need to be replaced. Read More... Answered by AppliancePartsPros.com | Wednesday, January 13, 2021
