Wendy for Model Number WPSE4200AOWW We replaced the coupler and ran a few loads last night and the agitator worked fine, except for a few times when it popped off. I got a piece of 2x4 and a hammer and wacked it a good one and the agitator stayed on. This morning when I went to do another load the agitator barely moved again. Do you think the coupler came loose? What should I do?
Answer Wendy, You'll need to remove the agitator, and check and replace the coupler WH49X10042 if the "splines" in the center are damaged, and make sure the screw and bolt are installed good and tight. You shouldn't have to hammer the agitator on, I wonder if you may have damaged either component using the hammer. If you have problems removing the ahgitator use a belt, strap or piece of rope, slip it under the agitator and pull up, until the agitator "pops" off the coupler. Good Luck and Thanks Read More...
