Greg for Model Number ge washer glwn2800d1ws I recently replaced the agitator coupling between the agitator and the transmission spline. Worked fine for a couple weeks, then coupling spline was stripped again, so it spins freely on the transmission spline. I noticed the splines are not in great condition, much of the surface has corroded away, but when I replaced the coupling new, it did lock on the transmission spline. What is causing the coupling to strip so easily? Any suggestions other than buying a new washer? Thanks. Greg
Answer Greg, If the splines on the transmission are corroded then this would be the cause for the unit to strip the agitator coupler. THe coupler may sit down and lock into place but most likely is shifting on the shaft which would cause it to strip out. Read More... Answered by AppliancePartsPros.com | Friday, July 7, 2017
