Kay for Model Number GFSL6KKXALS I had a defrost problem which caused ice build up. This has been fixed now the freezer is getting cold (the digital panel indicates -2) but it is not freezing the food. The icemaker is also not working. The fans in the freezer are both operating the refrigerator is getting cold and the compressor is working. Could the temperture sensor be not reading correctly?
Answer Hello Kay, The sensors could be out of tolerance or the control could have an issue. I would first pull the back wall out to observe the frost pattern. If there is an iceball where the Freon line enter the evaporator compartment, there has been a Freon loss. If the frost does not fully cover the coils and the bottom half is clear with no frost, you may have a sealed system restriction. Another symptom of a sealed system restriction is that the compressor will be almost too hot to hold your hand to. Another thing to check is the condenser coils to see if they need to be cleaned and make sure the condenser fan motor WR60X10256 is running full speed. Read More...
