Steve R for Model Number pss26ngpaww I have a GE refrig that is about 15 years old. It stopped working. The lights still go on and I can hear the fan. I had a repair tech tell me it is the mother board. He did not look nor test any thing else. He opened up the back, took out the MB and saw a burnt spot. If this part is replaced will that do the trick or is it possible that there is something else that has caused the MB to burn and it will happen again in time or right away? Does it make sense to repair this fridge 15 years old that has been working fine until this? Thank you!
Answer Steve, This issue would be caused by a faulty main control board WR55X10942C and you would want to replace it. The burn mark normally means that a relay or resistor on the board burnt but not caused by another issue. Read More... Answered by AppliancePartsPros.com | Wednesday, October 30, 2013
