James for Model Number GTS22FBMARWW I just changed my main control board in my ge GTS22FBMARWW with a new WR55X10942. My serial number begins with TA so I did not cut any wires. I just swapped the boards out. My original board had a burnt resistor and the evaporator fan would not turn on. Well, know the fan turns on, but I have a new problem I didn't have before, my freezer is way to cold, I have it turned down to a minimum at "1" and my fridge at "5". So my freezer is at 10F and my fridge is a 40F. I would like my freezer to be at 32F. but its at a setting of "1" so I can't turn it down anymore, and its consuming a lot of electricity keeping my freezer that cold. What do you guys think???
Answer James, It sounds like your freezer is sitting at 10 degrees and the refrigerator at 40 then it is working properly. The freezer should run at 0 degrees when set on the middle setting of 5 with a plus or minus 5 degrees. If the freezer were at 32 it would not freeze items properly. Read More...
