Mik for Model Number PSS26NGPACC Have a side by side refrigerator. The refrigerator is registering anywhere from 26 to 32 degrees instead of the recommended 37. Freezer is doing ok. Is this a mother board issue or something else? In October the whole unit quit cooling and had a repairman replace mother board with a refurbished one. Now 4 months later this problem. Help! Thanks
Answer Hello Mik, You will need to check the defrost heater since it is the most common failure on this design. If it tests good with no frost build-up on the evaporator coils and the evaporator fan motor is running up to speed, you will need to check the damper for a frost build-up preventing air flow to the fresh food compartment. Don't forget to check the air return to the freezer compartment at the bottom of the fresh food compartment. Remember if frost is located in the damper area, the usual cause is a air leak at the ice dispense door or around one of the door seals. Read More...
