Len for Model Number PFS22MISBBB My refrigerator is a bottom freezer unit. The freezer is now not going below 27deg., the fridge section is not cooling, and I do not feel any air flow there (I do in freezer). I suspect the main board as this all started after a short power outage. Could it be something else?
Answer Len, You will want to check the evaporator coils to make sure that there is not heavy ice build up on the coils. Also check to make sure that the evaporator fan motor is running. If there is heavy frost build up then you will want to test the defrost thermostat, sensor and defrost heater. The sensor should have a resistance of 42.2K ohms at room temp, 14.4K ohms at 37 degrees and 5K ohms at 77 degrees. The heater and defrost limiter should have continuity and if there is no continuity then the part is bad and would need to be replaced. If there is an even frost pattern but the fan is not running then test for voltage at the fan motor. This fan is a DC fan and would have 13 vdc from white to red wire. If all this checks ok then it would most likely be the main board but recommend checking other components first. Read More... Answered by AppliancePartsPros.com | Tuesday, July 21, 2015
