David, You will want to check the frost pattern on the evaporator coils in the freezer and see if there is a frost patter. If there is no frost pattern then you will want to check to see if the compressor is running. If it is then there is a sealed system issue. If there is very little frost pattern then it would be a selaed system issue. If the frost pattern is a full frost pattern where it is even from top to bottom then check the fan motor to make sure it is operating. If the coils are impacted with frost or ice then test the defrost thermostat and heater and if they check ok then replace the defrost thermistor.
