Answer Lou, A GE control board will not work in a Whirlpool machine. The first check to make is at the freezer door hinge. Check and make sure there aren't any damaged wires or loose connections at the wire harness connector at the door hinge. Then access the main control board on the back of the refrigerator. Find the P4 connector, with a multi meter check for 14 VDC across the orange/black and tan/black wires in the harness. if you have the 14 VDC,then the dispenser board is the problem WPW10372206 / WPW10372206.If you don't have the voltage, then the main control board W11088499 / WPW10446514 is the problem.
