Robert for Model Number GSH25JFXNCC I replaced the main control board on my side by side refrigerator freezer with the factory part. Control makes a clicking sound about every five minutes and changes fan to high speed, then back to low speed in the next minute. Compressor is warm. Interior of freezer was at 34 degrees when I replaced control board and had frost on food. After 4 hours temperature is about 30 degrees. Temperature control was set on 5 by the new control board. I changed temperature control to 8 about 3 hours after installing the new control board to see if freezer would cool down faster. Why is it not cooling down faster?
Answer Robert, Your refrigerator is equipped with a DCV variable speed evaporator fan, it operates on sensors that supply input data to the main control board and increase or decrease the fan speed based on that information, it is not abnormal tp have a fan speed that fluctuates after a replacement part is installed. Adjusting the temperature at the control, won't help speed up the cooling process, reset the control back to 5, and allow the refrigerator to run 12 to 24 hours without any door openings, then check the temperature in the freezer, and adjust the temperature control so the freezer temperature is 0 to 3 dgrs.F. It can take as long as 24 hours for the air to equalize and circulate properly then the sensors will have the proper inputs to the control board and the machine will operate properly and have the correct display.
