You're machine has a "mother board" electronic control. The board can and will Determine the amount of time needed to properly defrost the evaporator coils, The time can vary from as little as 15 minutes to as long as 45 minutes, And as little as once a week to once every 6 hours, depending on usage, door openings, temperature, and previous defrost cycles. But the temperature should remain the same on all defrost cycles. If all checks are OK and in range, then you'd need to suspect the main control board/mother board as the culprit.
