Chris for Model Number PSS25MGMBWW I have a GE side by side model PSS25MGMBWW. It is in a second home and was working just fine but I went in a few weeks ago and noticed the water. All of the ice in the freezer had completely melted and the refrigerator was warm. (Fortunately I didn't have much of anything in it.) Anyway, the temp control for both the refrigerator and freezer was set to 0 which I quickly learned is the same as turning the cooling off. I figured out that if I adjust the freezer temp, the display for both temps will go out but the compressor starts running and the refrigerator works fine. If I close the door and open it again they both show zero, and if I cut the power off and back on they will both be at zero and the refrigerator will act as though it was set to be off. Attempting to adjust the refrigerator side temp at any time while the compressor is running will shut it down. Then I have to shut the door and reopen it, then start back by adjusting freezer temp again. My first guess was the temp control board so I replaced that but it does exactly the same thing as it was doing before. Main board or something else to look for?
Answer Chris, This issue would be caused by a faulty main control board on the unit. Read More... Answered by AppliancePartsPros.com | Tuesday, July 25, 2017
