Jane for Model Number PSI23MGMABB My fridge has an ongoing failure to defrost problem. I replaced the defrost heater, defrost thermostat and thermistor in June trying to cure the issue. Now two months later, the problem has returned, presumably because it took that long for the frost to completely choke up the unit again. I manually defrosted the whole mess and freezer & fridge temps have returned to normal. Does this sound like it must be a main control board problem? Before I order that expensive part, is there any way to detect if the replaced thermostat and heater are actually capable of working (in the unlikely event that you sold me a defective part, or that I somehow installed them incorrectly)? Thanks
Answer Jane, You can do a continuity test with a multimeter on the heater and thermostat to make sure that they are good. This issue would most likely be a faulty control board not allowing the unit to go into the defrost cycle. Read More... Answered by AppliancePartsPros.com | Monday, August 9, 2021
