Timothy Yarbrough for Model Number GSS25JFMDWW I may need the motherboard but before I spend the money wanted to ask. Symptom, freezer to cold, like -15 degrees freezer set on 1. Fridge too warm SOMETIMES, it is set on 9 and temp will vary from 30 to 60 degrees. the bottom of the freezer (inside) has a sheet of ice that on occasion will melt and leak out on the floor (drain hole has been cleared multiple times). it runs way too long. I have replaced the 2 temp sensors in the freezer, the evaporator fan, the defrost thermostat, the defrost heater ( it tested open) the temp sensor in the fridge. The damper does open and close I think correctly. I think that covers everything except the motherboard, correct? Thanks
Answer Timothy, For the ice on the floor that melts and runs out the door, this will likely be an issue with the drain being clogged and you will want to clear this out and flush it. As for the too warm in the refrigerator compartment and too cold in the freezer, this could be caused by the same thing if the return vent is getting clogged by ice from the defrost cycle. The other potential for this would something blocking the vent on the refrigerator side behind the crisper drawers. The control board would be the least likely cause for this issue. Read More...
