Steve for Model Number GSH22JSZBSS I have good water supply all the way up to the bottom of the freezer door (lines are clear, pump works as it should). When I hit the water dispensing switch, no water (ice maker is good),and I can hear the click of the switch. I wondered if I needed to replace the control panel in the door (WR55X10562)? But then I wondered, is there another switch or solenoid after the pump and before the outlet tube for the water the board controls? I just don't want to buy the control board if there's some other thing I need to be considering.
Answer Steve, If you disconnect the water line at the bottom of the door and water comes out when the dispenser is hit then the issue is with the water line in the door being frozen. This is normally caused by a void in the freezer door that allows ice to collect around the fill tube and freeze. There is a way to correct this for your model in which you will need to get the fill tube heater kit part number WR49X10173. This is a low wattage heater that you install into the dispenser area and will correct your issue. Please keep in mind that it will take a couple days after it is installed to thaw the ice in the door in order to allow the dispenser to start working again. Read More...
