Bob for Model Number gsd2030z05ww My dishwasher was not filling. I determined that the drain solenoid was rusted and stuck. Water is leaking when it drains. From what I have read I may need to replace then entire pump assembly to address the faulty seals. I assume it includes the new solenoid? Can the pump assembly be replaced without removing the dishwasher from its cabinet?
Answer Hello Bob, The pump assembly can be changed without pulling the unit, but it is more time consuming that pulling the unit. An experienced technician will do it in place, but that is just because experience teaches where and how the little particulars are. I would recommend pulling the unit to save the time. If you were going to be a technician I would still recommend to pull the first few just to become familiar with the unit for future reference. After pulling several, it then becomes time saving to do it in place. Without this experience, many leaks are caused and you really don't need a leak on top of the trouble you already have.
