Ted for Model Number GE cafe fridge CFE 29TSDBSS

There is no cooling. The compressor looks like it is not on - no noise nor vibration. The condenser and compressor fans are all working. There is 120 v coming to the Inverter Board. The resistance of the condenser between the neutral and each of the 2 windings is about 6 ohms. The resistance between the two windings directly is also 6 ohms which I do not understand since I thought it would be 12 ohms? Am I missing something here? Does it appear that the inverter board is bad?

Answer

Hello Ted, If you have voltage to the inverter board and the compressor is not coming on, the inverter board WR87X29409 is the part in question. A variable-speed compressor will have the same resistance on each winding so there will be no 12 ohm reading in this case.
