Kenneth B. for Model Number WJRE5500G1WW How do you remove the lid switch without destroying it so I can remove the cover assembly?
Answer Hello Kenneth, The first, and most important part of this or any other appliance disassembly, disconnect the unit from the power supply. Using a puddy knife, (paint scraper), pop the spring clips between the main top and the main front. This will allow the top of the main front to drop forward. Lift it off of the bottom clips and set it aside. Now the lid switch is exposed from the bottom of the main top. Reach inside the unit and push the lid switch up and it will pop out. Now turn it sideways and feed it back through the hole. Unplug it from the harness and the removal is complete. Of course the installation is the reverse of this process. Read More...
