Patou for Model Number GSS25LSTD SS the fresh food section of the refrigerator is freezing food. Is the damper going bad? Do I have a way of knowing that it is causing the problem? Does the part WR60X 10063 works to replace the defective damper if necessary? Thanks Patrick
Answer Patou, this could be caused by a failed thermistor WR55X10025. With the refrigerator power cord unplugged, both thermistors can be tested from the main control at the connection J1 from the blue wire at pin 5 to the yellow wire at pin 2 for the lower thermistor and the blue wire at pin 5 to the blue/red wire at pin 1 for the upper thermistor. The sensor should measure 12.7K Ohms at 41°F and 16.3K Ohms at 32°F. They should also measure 6.2K Ohms at 68°F, 5K Ohms at 77°F, and 4K Ohms at 86°F. If the sensors measure within 10% of the range, it is possible that the damper WR49X10091 has failed if it does not close at all. Read More...
