Mike for Model Number GE SCB1001KSS01 Have a 2006 GE Adavantium 120 microwave ( model SCB1001KSS01). Two months ago the display started randomly flashing and scrolling. Unplugging it would seem to reset things and it would work for a while but eventually would start doing the same thing. All other functions of the microwave worked fine. Replaced the Digitron Display board WB27X10856 purchased through AppliancePartsPros.com ( part number AP3883432). Unit worked perfectly for two months then suddenly started the whole process all over again. This time the display will at times go completely blank. Unplugging the unit for 10 minutes will “reset” it for a period of time and the display will work normally but eventually it goes scrambled and blank again. All other functions of the microwave continue to function properly. Is this a repeat failure of the Digitron Display board? If so why would the new board fail only after two months? Did I receive a bad board or could there be something else causing the boards to fail? Thanks
Answer Mike, It's more likely something else. The WB27X10858 / WB27X10858 Pwb(pcb) Asm Sub is the more likely culprit. It probably has a loose wire or connection to the digitron, and possibly other components. It could also be a loose solder joint on the board, which will interrupt power to the digitron causing the machine to have a intermittent display, yet operate all the other components. Read More...
