Poor Instructions We just purchased a WH49X301 drain hose extension. We were given the same advice, as a previous questioner, about cutting the drain hose. I didn't and followed the direction provided here. The connection still leaks, because of the channels that run down the side of the drain hose where it inserts into the extension. Is there a sealant that will fill these channels and not harm the rubber gasket?
Answer Hello. No, there is no sealant that can be used. If the clamps are tight enough and not bowing the plastic, it will work and will not leak. These can be stubborn sometimes, but with some work will seal. If you need to you can try using silicone to get the joint to seal, but the manufacturer does not say it needs it. Read More...
