This washer drain hose extension lengthens the factory hose so it can reach the standpipe, sink, or laundry tub. It supports a secure, leak-resistant connection and proper routing when the original hose is too short for your installation.

  • Extends the existing drain hose to reach the standpipe, sink, or laundry tub
  • Helps reduce kinks and strain by allowing a smoother routing path
  • Supports proper drainage when relocating the washer or rerouting the hose
  • Typical need signs: hose won't reach the drain, hose is stretched tight, routing requires extra length
What's included: One drain hose extension. Install notes:
  • Unplug the washer and turn off water before beginning
  • Join to the existing hose with a compatible coupler and clamps; fully seat and tighten connections
  • Route to avoid sharp bends; keep hose height within your washer's guidelines to prevent siphoning
  • Run a short drain/spin and check all connections for leaks

Hello Paul, you may have to wait for the appliance to be delivered for that information as the manufacturer does not supply that information even in the Installation Instructions that come with the appliance according to the manufacturer's website.

Roger, your model does not have a longer drain hose listed for compatibility. However, the extension kit [WH49X301] would work to get the drain hose to the length you need.

Hi there, I managed to get the WH49x301 extension hose fitted and clamped onto one end of the drain hose but am having trouble with the other. There was a kink and it leaked, I trimmed the damaged bit and am now having difficulty getting it all to fit together. Have tried a bit of soap as per someone else's suggestion. Is there some sort of trick to get these two parts connected? (Also finding this an absurd way to correct a manufactures defect, the original hose is ridiculously short, grrr...) Hoping you can help as this is causing serious marital discord!

El Dee, have you considered a longer drain hose GPF10L . In most cases, you need to trim the end of the corrugated hose off straight as possible. insert the end of the hose into the opening of the hose extension, as far as possible, it should be a tight fit, you may have to twist the hose to help seat it in the extension, Usually we would wrap the "splice" tightly with electrical tape, then install and tighten a worm gear hose clamp over the connection, just a 1/4 turn past finger tight. this will reduce the possibility of leaks from the spliced area.

Hello Paul, WH49X301 is the only drain extension recommended by GE. It is not recommended to use more than one as this will affect the units' wash result.

Hello Dan, This information has not been shared by the manufacturer. From counting the one inch squares in our photo of the part, it appears to be between 36 and 40 inches long, (as a guess).

A video showing how this attaches to WH41X10096 would be helpful. If you want to end up with a longer hose with the inlet to the machine at one end the gooseneck to put into the plumbing drain at the other the original hose will have to be cut and the extension spliced into it. Where is the best place to cut the original hose (WH41X10096) and what tool should be used to make the cut? And why does GE make such as stupid flimsy short plastic tube for a drain in the first place?

1 Answer

Hello SAHM. There is a video for replacement on the parts page. As for where to cut it for the extension, There is a non corrugated section you will cut and clamp.

Hello John, GE lists a 12 foot dishwasher drain extension WD24X10065. Be aware there should be no loops before the drain. The length should be maintained to countertop level until it drops to the sink drain/disposer connection for proper operation.
