Darran The WR17X11459 Cup Drive on my GE icemaker doesn't seem to stay seated in its housing in the ice bucket. It wants to slide forward and cause the auger to wobble. What could be causing this ? The auger seems to be back as far as it can go with the retaining nut on the front of it. Could the auger be bent maybe ? Thanks
Answer Hello Darran, the drive cup WR17X11459 may be worn or flexing under load. If the auger shaft was bent you would see it when manually rotating the drive cup. The auger shaft should not have excess play if pushed forward, check the entire ice bin for cracks that may allow excess movement. Check that the ice maker is not making oversize cubes. Read More...
