Bruce In the past 6 months I have replaced two Ignitor for my GE Oven. The last one only lasted about 6 weeks. I purchased it off of Amazon. The part number was WB2X9998. I don't want to buy a new stove. What do you think is wrong?
Answer Bruce, fast failure of an ignitor could be caused by oil being on the carbide from installation, if the part was dropped enough to have a slight crack in the carbide, improper voltage being supplied, incorrect part being used, etc. If the model number of your appliance could be provided in a new question, this can allow the most accurate information to be presented.
