Fred U for Model Number TPX24PPDABB I just replaced both solenoids, tubing, and filter on this side-by-side refrigerator. Water works now, but icemaker is still not filling. I heard the water try to cycle a couple times last night, but could not get to the freezer to observe. Still no water in form. The icemaker does cycle. I poured water into the form last night and had ice this morning. Removed the icemaker and back plate, and noted that the fill tube was loose from the grommet. Fill tube was empty. Grommet is flush with back wall of freezer, and may have cracked off. How are grommet and fill tube connected? Could it be that water was getting to the grommet and running down the back wall inside the freezer? It only tried to cycle water for 1-2 seconds. Does the form have a sensor to shut off water on no flow? Tonight I'll disconnect the tube and see if I get water flow.
Answer Fred, The fill tube does not have a flow sensor in it. The icemaker determines the length of time that the water should come into the unit. If the fill tube is broken off then you would want to replace the fill tube. If the unit is only trying to fill for 1-2 seconds then you would need to replace the icemaker. Read More...
