Reaper1 Inc for Model Number ge gsh25sgpc ss my stainless steel fridge iced up in the freezer coils .i tested everything you recomended and had a bad freezer thermistor replaced it ,it seems to work ok but i noticed now if you leave the freezer door open and out it into liner protection mode the defrost heater comes on ?do i have a bad defrost limiter also i did the test with the middle blue wire and the orange wire testing ohms and it read 21.6 the range is 15 to 25 ohms ?whats up with this fridge?thanks
Answer Reaper1, Are you sure you don't have a crossed wire or wires touching each other ? the defrost heater should not come on in the "liner Protection" mode. The damper usually closes and the fans will turn on but not the heater. " As part of the liner protection system, after three minutes of door-open time, on side-by-side models the refrigerator damper will automatically close when the fan starts. On top-mounts, no damper is used in the air channel at all. Therefore, only the fan will run within this same three-minute door opening scenario. 1. The fan (evaporator or fresh food) comes on after three minutes of door-open time.
