Mike for Model Number GTWS8650D0WS I'm trying to remove the washer basket to clean the tub. I'm going to purchase a new nut along with tub seal and screw. I have successfully removed the nut with a 1-5/16" Deep socket and removed the angle washer the tub will not separate to pull it out. Do you know if this basket assembly is threaded? All pictures I have seen its not and it should slip off. I tried hammering down on the spindle while pulling with no movement. Any suggestions?
Answer Hello Mike, the inner tub is splined to accept the splines on the transmission shaft, the nut secures the inner tub.
