Thelma for Model Number GSS25WGMDWW I just purchased WR17X11653, WR02x10585, & WR17x10706 for my refrigerator. The Dispenser Recess Trim is very difficult to remove. I am afraid if I apply too much pressure with the putty knife, the trim will break. Please advise on the best way to remove this part so that I can replace the parts that I bought. Thanks!
Answer Hello Thelma, You do not have to remove the trim to replace the ice door. Turn power off to the unit and grasp the bottom of the interface assembly and pull out on the bottom of it, (this is the part with the dispenser controls on it). This will snap out. You will then be able to remove the screws holding the dispenser housing shield in place. When this is removed, the ice door is easily accessed. I would have the ice door solenoid WR62X10055 ready to put in also since condensation causes this design to commonly rust and seize. Read More...
