Paul for Model Number ZISS420DRISS On our Stainless steel GE Monogram the ice chute door started sticking about six months ago and now is stuck open. This causes air to flow up in the chute and ice over. Based on the various Q&A reads, I have concluded that I should replace the solenoid, ice shut flap, recess crank and spring - maybe not be all these pieces are bad, but it seems like I need to remove the SS door skin to remove the control panel and get access. Please confirm. My problem is how to access to do the repair. Is removing the skin as simple as it sounds? just removing screws on the top, bottom and inside hinge side? Initially I was going to access the ice door and solonoid and confirm what needs to be done, but removing the stainless steel skin and door handles send a big deal.
Answer Paul, Yes removing the door skin is as simple as removing the screws from the top, bottom and removing the handle and the panel will come off. Read More... Answered by AppliancePartsPros.com | Tuesday, October 10, 2017
