R.D. for Model Number PFSF6PKXAWW My ice maker makes this intermittent loud clicking sound. From tips on this site, I took out the ice maker unit and found rock solid ice in the ice compartments. I let it thaw, reinstalled the ice maker and reset it. The next day, the clicking sound came back. I checked and saw ice in the compartment but it was frozen fast in the ice molds. I think the problem is the ice maker can't expel the ice because the heater to release the ice isn't heating up. Before I purchase a new ice maker though, how do I make sure the problem of no heat is due to a broken ice maker rather than some other component in the refrigerator? Thanks
Answer Hello R.D., Since the icemaker is getting voltage to cycle it can only be a defective icemaker assembly because this is all controlled by switches inside the icemaker assembly. Read More... Answered by AppliancePartsPros.com | Friday, December 1, 2017
