Scott for Model Number ZISS42DAASS My freezer keeps building up ice above the evaporator fan. Checked the de-icing coil and its 350 ohms. What is the normal Ohms for this de-icing coil? Most info that I find says the normal defrost coil is to be 100 Ohms or below. Not sure about the de-icing coil.
Answer Scott, the drain trough heater should measure 330O while the defrost heater WR51X322 should measure about 30O. For ice to accumulate above the fan, either there is a partial defrost from a weak defrost heater, failing bi-metal WR50X45, or an improper drain as moisture would have to be drawn up past the fan to get above it.
