John for Model Number JKP64G0V1BB Hello, I have a GE combination Microwave / Conventional Oven appliance (Mod#: JKP64G0V1BB). When I attempt to place the oven in self-clean-mode the oven pauses for a minute or so then it begins to beep and and flash the error message "door" on the display panel. I assume this means that the oven cannot lock itself and will not begin the self cleaning cycle... Can you tell me what part (or parts) have failed to cause this behavior? In addition, what I can do to test / verify the failure of the failed part before I replace it? Thank you. John
Answer Hello John. You need to test the lock assembly and see if it is bad. If there is power to the lock motor and it does not lock, you will need to order and replace the latch assembly for the oven. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html Read More...
