Len for Model Number WPGT9350C0WW I recently replaced the Mech Hsng Asm - Bearing (AP3207181 WH39X10003) unit on this machine. This resolved the major bearing noise (metal on metal) that was occurring. However, now on wash cycle I am hearing a low-level grinding (either plastic on plastic, or possibly the seal breaking in with the splines?. I'm suspicious that the inner plastic housing on the Motor Asm Kit (AP6004391 WH49X25041) may be a little worn down from previous bearing going bad? Visual on it looks ok, however, I am curious of your opinion. Also, a little noisier than normal during final spin, however, visual on Balance Asm (AP3206129) and Suspension Arms (AP3205746) all look good. Thanks kindly for any feedback.
Answer Len, if your washer is starting to sound like a jet engine when it goes into spin mode, this will certainly be an indicator that the motor kit assembly could be going bad. Another thing that can occur is dust or small debris can accumulate on the magnets in the rotor which can cause this issue and normally causes the rotor to improperly function even after removing debris.
