Stuart for Model Number GE Microwave Spacesaver Model No. JVM240WL001; Part number AP2021140; MFG Part No. WB15X322 This is the second time that the handle broke on this model microwave. The first time was about 2 years after it was purchased, when the unit was still under warranty. GE service chose to provide me with a new microwave rather than install a new handle on the unit that we had. Strange. When the repairman came to replace it, he felt that it was too difficult for him to take off the door and replace the cracked handle, and he offered to leave the new microwave with me without installing it. I agreed, and crazy glued the cracked handle, which worked for another 2-3 years, when the plastic cracked again. Now, some 15 years later, the handle on the new microwave cracked in precisely the same spot that it had cracked on the original microwave. Will it be difficult to install the replacement handle? The unit works very well besides this broken handle.
Answer Stuart, the microwave door handle is part number WB15X322. The handle does not includes the screws, part number WB1X1488. Unfortunately, the screw has been discontinued.
