Adam for Model Number PFCS1NFYCSS The hinge on the bottom of this part recently snapped on my refrigerator. I noticed there is also a wire going from this part into the door itself, which looks like it was cut (we inherited the refrigerator from the previous homeowners). What does this wire connect, and is it vital to the operation of the refrigerator? Is the wire included in this part? Thanks
Answer Hello Adam, This is a necessary part in areas of high humidity. It keeps the center divider from getting cold enough to sweat, which causes the center divider cover to rust and in the worst cases, put a puddle of water in the floor. The wire from the connector to the mullion heater is provided but the other wire is part of the harness in the blown insulation. If it cannot be repaired, it may cause you trouble unless you live in a desert state. Read More... Answered by AppliancePartsPros.com | Monday, September 1, 2014
