For Ge Mullion Asm (Part Number: OEM13615428)

Tom B for Model Number PFSS5PJXBSS

The 2 screws attaching the plastic piece at the lower section of the Mullion to the right french door (GE Profide model PFSS5PJXBSS) have come loose, resulting in the Mullion not attached at bottom and the door not closing properly. The screws will not re-attach to the door properly - it is as if the screw holes are stripped or there is something inside the door they they are not seating into properly. For this replacement part, do the 2 screws simply screw into the door, or is there something different that needs to be done to properly attach. It seems as though there should be a "female" piece inside the door to screw into. Thanks.

Tom, If the screws are pulling out of the door after being installed then the door would need to be replaced.

Hello Adam, This is a necessary part in areas of high humidity. It keeps the center divider from getting cold enough to sweat, which causes the center divider cover to rust and in the worst cases, put a puddle of water in the floor. The wire from the connector to the mullion heater is provided but the other wire is part of the harness in the blown insulation. If it cannot be repaired, it may cause you trouble unless you live in a desert state.

At the bottom of this mullion part, there is a 1" W x 2" H plastic part that connects the mullion piece to the door. It is a cover for some sort of electrical connection between the mullion and door. I am looking for the two screws that connect that plastic cover piece on the mullion part to the door itself. GE can't tell me anything. I've already gone through a half dozen 800 numbers!!! If the screws are NOT available, at least tell me what type of screws, size, etc. to get. THANK YOU!!!
