Al for Model Number JBP78WOB2WW How hot does this oven usually get and how long does it take to get there? It shows on the knob 550 degrees. We often cook pizza and crackers and it never seems to get to 500 degrees and that is after a couple hours. I have adjusted the oven as high as I can get it. I replaced the element about four years ago and it never seems to get to temperature.
Answer Al, as the bake and broil elements are used during the bake cycle, it would be recommended that both elements are tested to ensure they are operational. With the range power cord unplugged and a multimeter, the bake element WB44T10011 would be tested for resistance and should measure 22O. The broil element WB44T10009 would be tested similarly and should measure 17O. The oven sensor WB23X5340 would be tested for resistance as well and should measure 1100O at room temperature. If these test good, the range can be plugged back in and the terminal block tested for a full 240VAC from the red wire to the black wire. If there is a proper voltage reading, the main control WB50T10043 would be suspect. The range should be able to reach the temperatures shown as being available within a standard preheat timeframe.
