Aaron for Model Number JGBP28DED1WH Hi, our oven takes a long time to get up to temp. I did some testing and found the ignitor is orange, which I thought was normal, but might not be, and the gas took around 45 seconds before it lit. It lit up for a short bit and then went back out before lighting up again shortly after. It continues to do this over and over. I found a video on testing safety valves with a multimeter and mine fell within the stated 'good' range of 0-5 ohms. Any advice is appreciated. Thank you
Answer Aaron, Test for 3.2-3.6 amps at the gas safety valve with the igniter turned on. If the voltage is there, you have a bad safety valve. If the voltage is low, you have a weak igniter and the igniter will need to be replaced. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html It sounds like the igniter could be the issue but here is how you will want to test the igniter and oven valve.
