Wil for Model Number Tappan Propane Range/Oven Model #36-2224-00 SN 02192-24265130 My oven won't ignite. The pilot is going and it is pluged in. Would this be my ignitor and can I still get this part? I know the stove is over thirty years old. Can you tell me how old my stove is?
Answer Hello Wil. If the igniter glows, but it does not light, Test for 3.2-3.6 volts AC at the gas safety valve with the igniter turned on. If the voltage is there, you have a bad safety valve. If the voltage is low, you have a weak igniter and the igniter will need to be replaced. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html Read More...
